Our Commitment to Accessibility

At Ludwitt, we believe that philosophy should be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability. We are committed to ensuring that our platform is usable by people of all abilities and disabilities. We have implemented the following accessibility features on our platform:

Keyboard Navigation

All functionality is operable through a keyboard interface without requiring specific timings for individual keystrokes. Focus indicators are clearly visible to help keyboard users navigate.

Alternative Text

All non-text content such as images has appropriate alternative text, providing equal access to visual information for screen reader users.

Color Contrast

Text and interactive elements maintain sufficient color contrast ratios to ensure readability for users with low vision or color vision deficiencies.

Known Accessibility Issues

We are committed to transparency about our accessibility challenges. The following issues have been identified and are part of our development roadmap:

  • Complex Dialogues: Some philosophical dialogue simulations currently lack full keyboard navigation. Estimated fix: Q1 2024.
  • PDF Downloads: Some downloadable PDF resources need improved tagging and structure. Estimated fix: Q4 2023.
  • Interactive Diagrams: Certain philosophical concept diagrams need improved alternative descriptions. Estimated fix: Q1 2024.
  • Video Player: Custom video controls need improved keyboard support. Estimated fix: Q4 2023.
  • Mobile Navigation: Some complex menu structures need improved touch accessibility on small screens. Estimated fix: Q4 2023.

Ongoing Improvements

Our commitment to accessibility is ongoing. We conduct regular audits and testing to identify and address issues. Our accessibility improvement process includes:

  • Regular automated testing using tools like Axe, WAVE, and Lighthouse
  • Manual testing with various assistive technologies
  • Bi-annual comprehensive WCAG audits by accessibility specialists
  • User testing with individuals who use assistive technologies
  • Accessibility training for our development, design, and content teams
